Wilton's ®Red Jonaprince

Red Jonaprince is one of the clones of Jonagold, characterized by a large fruit conical in shape (70 – 90 mm dia) and dark red in color (95 – 100%). The yield is very high and the fruit can be stored for a long period of time (until June in a ULO cold room). Red Jonaprince is firmer and contains higher sugar levels than other Jonagold clones. The flesh is very firm, crispy, sweet-sour and very aromatic.

It is self-sterile, therefore Breaburn, Elstar, Gala, Golden Delicious, Idared, Pinova and Professor Sprenger serve as good pollinators.

The variety ripens at the beginning and middle of September.
